Robert Lee Goree, Sr. was born on June 24, 1944 in Haskell, Oklahoma to Leon and Dora Mae (Jumper) Goree. Mr. Goree went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 77.
As a young adult, Robert went to Mount Zion Baptist Church in Haskell, Oklahoma. He attended school in Haskell, Oklahoma until the 12th grade.
Robert was a kind loving God-fearing man who was as strong as an ox. He loved to work on cars and ride horses. He loved playing cards when he went to family gatherings. He loved helping people and would give the shirt off his back to help someone. He was a humble man, and he loved his grandbabies. He helped others accomplish much in their lives, but he also accomplished a lot. He was a strong father who's always there for his children. He will be forever missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Goree, father, Leon Goree, Sr., mother, Dora Mae (Jumper) Goree, and brothers, Leon Goree, Jr., David L. Goree, Billy G. Goree, and Johnny Lee Goree.
He leaves to celebrate his children, Robert Lamont, Robert Junior, Kathy Goree, Cornelius Goree, Bryan Goree, Matthew Donaho, Evan Donaho, and Kennedy Donaho; his brothers and sisters, Mayetta Frederick (Victor), Floretta Bowman, Funtella Mayfield, Clarice Donaldson, Sharon Server (Melvin), and Chester L. Goree; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Viewing will be from 12:00 – 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. The celebration of Robert’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Haskell, Oklahoma. Mr. Goree will be laid to rest at Mount Zion Cemetery in Haskell, Oklahoma.
