Rick L. Scott, resident of Coweta, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK at the age of 56 years, 10 months and 26 days. He was a loving father, son, brother and uncle to his family. Rick was born on January 11, 1954 in Coweta, OK to Howard and Ann (Hensley) Scott. Rick was raised in Coweta and graduated from Coweta High School in 1972. After graduating from high school, he attended Oklahoma University, Oral Roberts University and American University in Washington, D.C. In 1970, Rick started Great Scott Fireworks and owned and operated it for over ten years. He also owned and operated Scott's Construction for five years. Rick is lovingly survived by one son, Michael George Pattrick Scott of Tulsa, OK; one daughter, Julie Ann Scott of Tulsa, OK; his mother, Ann Scott of Coweta, OK; one brother, Randy Ray Scott and his wife, Kathy, of Coweta, OK; one sister-in-law, Jan Scott of Norman, OK; two nephews, Nathanial Scott of Oklahoma City, OK and Seth Scott of Norman, OK; one niece, Randi Kay Scott of Wagoner, OK; other relatives and a host of friends. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Howard Scott and one brother, H.N. "Sonny" Scott. Funeral services for Rick will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at New Home Free Will Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. Ed Rutherford and Pastor Robert Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, December 10 from 5 - 7 p.m. Family and friends may send condolences to Rick's family online @ www.wrightfh.net. Pallbearers are Kenny Southern, Blane Morton, Ralph Replogle, Kirby Brumble, Robbie Robinson and Garry Felix. Honorary Pallbearers are Herb Reed and Ricky Pruitt.
