Richard Paul Jordan, age 72, longtime resident of Coweta departed this life on Monday afternoon, October 20, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his loving family members. He was born on May 19, 1936 in Norfolk, Virginia to Richard and Ruby (Graham) Jordan. Richard attended school in Norfolk, Virginia until the 10th grade. In February 8, 1959 he joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on March 15, 1978. He worked as a machinist at Unit Rigg for 24 years until his retirement in 1998. He and Helen Kay Jordan were united in marriage on September 26, 1969 in San Diego, California and she preceded him in death on May 8, 1994. Then on February 28, 1995, he and Eunice (Vaughn) Johnson were united in marriage in Coweta, Oklahoma. His hobbies included doing yard work and gardening. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Helen Kay Jordan. He is survived by his wife, Eunice of the home; his step-son; Will Johnson and his wife, Kellie, of Coweta; his two step-daughters, Rebecca Leopard and Wanda Higgins and her husband, Neal, both of Coweta; six step-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Vernon Cemetery with Rev. Buck Cope officiating.
