Broken Arrow

Richard Alan Green, age 69, resident of Broken Arrow, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, October 23, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on February 13, 1955, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Garland Levi and Velva Mae (Breivig) Green. Richard's journey through life was marked by resilience, love, and an enduring spirit that touched the hearts of many.

Richard grew up in Fall Creek, Wisconsin, where he attended school and laid the foundation for a life of hard work and dedication. He was one of eight children in a home that faced many challenges, yet Richard emerged as a pillar of strength, especially after having to take on extra responsibility at the tender age of 15. His identical twin, Raymond, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond, passed away in 2019, leaving Richard with cherished memories of their time together.

In 1976, Richard's path took a pivotal turn when he moved to Springfield, Missouri. It was there, on September 6, 1976, that he experienced a profound transformation by giving his heart to the Lord. His life was forever changed, filled with newfound purpose and joy. Shortly thereafter, at church, he met Wendi Worcester, the love of his life. Their love blossomed, and they were united in marriage on September 30, 1978, in Springfield. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Jennifer, who became the light of their lives.

Throughout his career, Richard demonstrated a strong work ethic and a knack for mechanics. He initially worked in various vocations throughout life and in his later years, he found joy as a driver for Bill Knight Ford in Tulsa, where he continued to display his reliability and commitment.

Richard's interests were as robust as his character. He had a passion for airplanes, cars, military history, and anything that demonstrated the raw power of innovation and engineering. Known as a master griller, he took great pleasure in sharing his culinary skills with family and friends. His grand dogs, Jackson, Elsa, and his grand bird Flynn, were among the many who enjoyed his affection, care, and food.

Above all, Richard was a man of faith. He learned the power of forgiveness through Jesus Christ and made it his mission to witness to everyone he knew. His life was a testament to the strength that comes from a heart full of grace and a spirit willing to share the love of God with others.

Richard is lovingly remembered by his wife, Wendi Green of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his daughter, Jennifer Krems and her husband, Jonathan, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his brothers, Dennis Green and his wife, Linda, of Monett, Missouri, and Dale Green and his wife, Juany, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; his sisters, Carole Green of Monett, Missouri, and Elaine Green of Battlefield, Missouri; also sisters – in – love Bonnie Green (Garland)of Marshfield, Wisconsin and Teresa Green (Raymond) of Pittsburg, Kansas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who were all dear to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland Levi and Velva Mae Green and three brothers, Garland Green, Paul Green, and Raymond Green.

Richard's legacy of love, strength, and faith will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
