Richard Burgess

Richard Joe Burgess of Coweta, age 32, passed away Monday morning, March 5, 2012 at St. John Medical Center in Broken Arrow, OK. Richard was born on January 7, 1980 in San Diego, CA to his parents, Vic and Kathy (Hammer) Burgess. Richard was a self-employed concrete finisher ever since finishing high school. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and he loved being outdoors. Richard is lovingly survived by his father, Vic Burgess of Coweta; his mother, Kathy Chesbro of Porter; his eight children, Ashton, Ryan, Maysun, Aila, Briar, Lorrene, Vic, and Oryea.; his maternal grandmother, Lorrene Hammer of Stone Bluff; his two sisters, Crystal Chesser of Porter and Delaney Burgess of Coweta; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Abe Burgess, his paternal grandmother, Edna Burgess, and his maternal grandfather, Frankie Hammer. Funeral services for Richard are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta with Pastor Larry Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Jason Cole, Jeff Oliver, Gary Todd, Travis McCollough, Kyle Goodman, and Ronnie Stuck. Honorary Pallbearer is Nick Oliver.
