Raymond Jackson

Raymond E. Jackson, age 83, of Coweta, Oklahoma passed from this life on Saturday, March 29, 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Raymond was born on April 2, 1924 in Crawford County, Arkansas to Cleveland and Pearlie (Brewer) Jackson. He received his education at the Oak Bowar School in Mulberry, Arkansas. Raymond and Dora Edwards were united in marriage on July 18, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They came to the Coweta area in 1955 from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Raymond worked as a self-employed construction contractor. He was a member of the Family Christian Center. His hobbies included gardening. Survivors include his wife, Dora of the home; one son, Larry Jackson of Coweta, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sue Benigar and her husband, Jim, of Coweta, Oklahoma; two brothers, Olen Jackson of Mulberry, Arkansas and Bill Jackson of Mountainburg, Arkansas; one sister, Veta Mae Patterson of Mulberry, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Michelle Jackson, Monica Jackson, and Erika Gibson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Shahan Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. Robert Shaw officiating.
