Ray Payne

Faron Ray Payne, age 63, lifelong Coweta resident passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at St. John Hospital in Broken Arrow, OK. Ray was born on June 10, 1954 to Lester Earl and Betty Ruth (Cagle) Payne in Coweta, OK. He was raised in Coweta and attended Coweta Public Schools. He owned and operated Ray's Lawn Care for many years. Ray loved to work on old cars. He also loved to tell jokes to make people laugh and was the life of the party. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his first wife, Lola Payne, his second wife, Carol Payne, his father, Lester Payne, 1 daughter, Francis Eckard, 1 sister, Wilma Payne-Erwin, 1 granddaughter, Montana Payne and 1 grandson, Daytona Schnelten. Ray is survived by his mother, Betty Ruth Payne of Coweta, OK; 3 daughters, Karissa Bell of Wagoner, OK, Lafaron Williams and husband, Malcom of Haskell, OK and Billie "B.J." Payne of Haskell, OK; 5 sons, Jimmy Payne and wife, Katie of Porter, OK, Jimmy Douglas of Tulsa, OK, Derrick Douglas of Wagoner, OK, Joshua Eckard and wife, Carrie of Coweta, OK and Caleb Eckard of Haskell, OK; 3 special children, Tammy Peters, Kayla Curtis and Cynthia Thomas; 11 grandchildren, Jimmy Payne, Cody Payne, Dylan Payne, Audre Lemoine, Ashlyn Lemoine, Alonah Lemoine, Lilly Eckard, Dayton Boysel, Sierra Boysel, Serenity Boysel, Peityn Hale and 11 more grandchildren he loved; 1 brother, Loren Payne and wife, Melody of Broken Arrow, OK; 2 sisters, Darlene Stites of Tulsa, OK and Natha Williams and husband, Mike of Coweta, OK; 1 brother-in-law, Edmone Erwin of Coweta, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Ray's life will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Abundant Rain Ministries in Coweta, OK with Rev. Brody Morris officiating.
