Phyllis "Geree" Hill, age 73, resident of Broken Arrow, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on August 24, 1951, in Portland, Oregon to Everett Freeman Kinch and Evelyn Bernice (Mickelson) Kinch. Geree was a vibrant soul who brought laughter and love to all who knew her.
Geree grew up in the beautiful landscapes of Oregon before moving to Fair Oaks, California, where she graduated from Bella Vista High School in 1969. She embarked on a fulfilling career with the State of California, dedicating over 30 years of service as a Tax Technician for the Franchise Tax Board in Sacramento. Upon her well-deserved retirement in 2007, Geree relocated to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to be closer to her beloved son and his family.
Family was the cornerstone of Geree's life. She is survived by her devoted son, Tyler Hill, and his wife, Amber, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Braxton Hill, Dayton Hill, Jordan Whitfield, Morgan Atkins and her fiancé Austin Cornwell, Paxton Burke and his wife Skyla, and Cooper Bailey, and her great-grandchildren, Aiden Miles, Memphis Cornwell, Bryce Cornwell, Rowan Burke, Lila Burke, and Adalynn Bailey. Geree's love and stories will be fondly remembered by her brother, Jerry Kinch, of Rescue, California, and her nephews, Justin and Brian Kinch. All of Tyler and Amber's family reside in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, a testament to the close-knit bond she cherished. Geree was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Freeman Kinch and Evelyn Bernice Kinch, who instilled in her the values of family and perseverance.
Geree's zest for life was evident in her interactions with everyone she met. Whether at the pharmacy, the vet's office, or the dog groomer's, she made friends effortlessly, always ready to engage in a lively conversation. Her love for her canine companions was unparalleled, and she ensured that each of her dogs received the utmost care and affection.
A true character, Geree was known for her sage advice, her iconic long blonde hair, perfectly shaped eyebrows, and impeccably maintained nails. Her headstrong nature was matched only by the depth of her love for those around her. She had a knack for storytelling, often regaling friends and family with tales of the "good old days," leaving them with memories to treasure forever.
Geree's presence was a gift to those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She lived her life with passion and left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family, who take comfort in the countless memories they shared.
