Philip Jay Willhoite, known to his friends and family as Jay, passed away at his home in Coweta, Oklahoma, on April 25, 2023, at the age of 64. He was born on May 25, 1958, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to Harold Lee and Betty Jean (Amos) Willhoite.
Jay graduated from Coweta High School in 1976. He worked as a warehouse driver for Winnelson Plumbing Supply in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Jay is survived by his daughter, Jessica Willhoite of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; his sister, Sharon Willhoite of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his brother, Steven Willhoite and wife, Susan, of Kansas City, Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Lee and Betty Jean Willhoite, and his brother, Raymond Willhoite.
Jay found joy in a variety of interests that connected him to others who shared his passions. He hunted and fished, often spent time at the lake, and loved driving his Polaris off-road vehicle. He also liked racing and classic cars.
Jay also had a strong connection to the land and farming. He spent many hours working on his family farm around Oneta—taking care of cattle, planting soybeans and wheat, and enjoying the satisfaction of harvesttime.
