Philip Lawrence "Phil" Thomas

Philip Lawrence "Phil" Thomas, age 66, resident of Broken Arrow, OK went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at his home in Broken Arrow, OK surrounded by his family. Phil was born on May 3, 1952 to Carrel Lawrence and Alma Florence (Dobbins) Thomas at Muskogee Baptist Hospital in Muskogee, OK. He was a 1970 graduate of Porter High School. After graduating high school, he attended Connors State College and Eastern Oklahoma State College. Phil married the love of his life, Sherry Kay Warren on May 17, 1973 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK. He worked at Locke Plumbing, Bill's Coal Company in Porter, Hilti and retired in 2014 from Chandler Engineering/Ametek as a Control Panel Assembler. Phil enjoyed restoring old cars, riding motorcycles and drag racing on Springhill Road in Porter in the late 60's and early 70's. He also enjoyed riding the four-wheeler and fishing with his grandsons. Phil loved spending time with his family. Phil is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sherry Thomas of the home in Broken Arrow, OK; 1 daughter, Amber Sheridan and husband, Shawn of Tucson, AZ; 1 brother, Jeff Thomas and wife, Dana of Porter, OK; 2 grandsons, Colin and Luke Sheridan; his mother-in-law, Ida Warren of Coweta, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Carrel Lawrence and Alma Florence Thomas and his father-in-law, Vance Warren. Viewing will be from 12-8 PM on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5-7 PM. Services celebrating Phil's life will be at 1 PM on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Bob Green officiating.
