Philip Matthew Farthing of Coweta passed away on Sunday morning, July 22, 2007 at his home. He was 36 years old. Philip was born on January 8, 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio to Gerald B. Farthing and Helen (Haynes) Duncan. He received his education in the Coweta school system. He came to the Coweta area in 1986 from Broken Arrow. Philip worked as a cook for various restaurants for 20 years. He was a member of the Broken Arrow Indian United Methodist Church. His hobbies included watching Oklahoma University football, music, and wrestling. Survivors include his companion, Rebecca Waldroop of the home; one son, Spencer Brodie Farthing of the home; one daughter, Summer Skye Farthing of the home; one step-daughter, Amanda Waldroop of the home; his mother, Helen Duncan of Coweta; one brother, David James Farthing of Jenks; maternal grandmother, Marie Crittenden and her husband, Roy of Coweta; and one uncle, Lewis Haynes of Jenks. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jim Duncan and grandfather, Clarence Haynes. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bert Robison of Cedar Creek Baptist Church officiating.
