Peter Angelo Hernandez

March 17, 1961 — March 16, 2025

Coweta

Peter Angelo Hernandez, age 63, resident of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday morning, March 16, 2025, at St. John Hospital in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, just a day shy of his 64th birthday. He was born on March 17, 1961, in Waukegan, Illinois to Pedro Torres Hernandez and Barbara Joyce Felton.

Peter was raised by a single mother. He left her side at the age of 18 and ventured out to Tucson, AZ where he met his young bride and began to live his childhood desire to have a family of his own. Peter said raising children was one of the best parts of his life. There were missed opportunities for Peter to share his love with most of his grandchildren, however, since he retired and moved to Oklahoma, he was able to have his “grandpa time” with Asher, and due to his illness, videos allowed him to fall in love with his newest grandbaby Jakoby. In the short time that Peter lived in Oklahoma he had made many friends. They would randomly stop by to talk about God, get advice, or just to enjoy laughing with him. The man had such an infectious laugh and inviting smile, it would light up a room… this will be missed. Before retiring Peter worked at Frontline in Green Bay, WI. He always spoke lovingly of his work family. They were a great support. To know Peter was to know that he was stubborn, brutally honest, and downright difficult at times, but if you genuinely loved Peter, you knew that no matter what happened, right or wrong, good or bad, Peter’s love was true and would always be there.

Peter is survived by his four children: Jared Hernandez, Justin Hernandez, Deven Hernandez, and Destiney Quezada, grandchildren; Alessa Hernandez, Grayson Hernandez, Archer Hernandez, Asher Hernandez, Jakoby Hernandez, Nathan Norman, and Andrew Norman. Peter is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Hernandez, and nephew Ryan Campos, that he helped raise and loved like a son, and nephew, DJ Felton, who will carry on his legacy of love and compassion.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Joyce Felton; his father, Pedro Torres Hernandez; and his brother, James Felton. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved Peter.

Although there are no services planned for Peter, his spirit will live on through the lives he touched with his warmth and generosity. He loved life and deeply valued his true relationships with family and friends. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
