Perry Joe Peterson

Perry Joe Peterson, age 80, resident of Broken Arrow went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday afternoon, November 8, 2020 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Perry was born on May 31, 1940 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and was the son of Lynn Fletcher Peterson and Neva Lucille (Claxton) Peterson.

Perry attended school in Coweta and graduated from Coweta High School.  He married the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Poplin on December 30, 1960 at Shahan Free Will Baptist Church in Coweta.  Together they were blessed with two daughters, Kelli and Leslea.  Perry worked at Braden Winch in Broken Arrow as a shop supervisor until he retired after 42 years.  He was a devoted member of the Shahan Free Will Baptist Church in Coweta.  He enjoyed fishing, working cows, camping, and watching westerns on TV.  In everything Perry did, he loved being the supervisor.  Perry loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Perry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Peterson of the home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two daughters, Kelli Hutchins and husband Kevin of Coweta, Oklahoma and Leslea Harrison and husband Jim Bob of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Kandice Brians, Kendahl Asberry and husband Drae, Kalynn Rush and husband Jon, and Ethan Harrison and wife Lauren; six great grandchildren, Edin Asberry, Aliya Rush, Lorelei Rush, DiAndrae Asberry II, Elliott Harrison, Liam Harrison, and one on the way; three brothers, Robert Peterson and wife Jackie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jerry Peterson and wife Kathy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Lee Peterson and wife Carolyn of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Fletcher and Neva Lucille Peterson and his nephew, Shawn Peterson.

Viewing will be from 12:00 – 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home.  A memorial service celebrating Perry’s life will be held at a later date.
