Penny D’ann Janko, age 59, resident of Wagoner, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning, September 19, 2022 at her home in Wagoner, Oklahoma.  Penny was born on September 21, 1962 in Owasso, Oklahoma to Dene Harmon and Anna Mae (Martin) Skelton.  She was a 1980 graduate of Owasso High School and then she attended Tulsa Junior College.  Penny went on to further her education at Northeastern State University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she received a Master’s degree in Administration.  She was married to Billy C. Risley from 1985 until he passed away in 2013.  Penny then married Curtis Wayne Janko on January 1, 2015.  Penny began teaching at William R. Teague Elementary School in Wagoner and later became the principal.  She then worked at Indian Capital Technology Center in Muskogee until she retired in 2021.  Penny enjoyed going to the beach, traveling, antique shopping, but most of all loved spending time with her husband, daughter, and two grandkids.  She was dearly loved by her family and friends.

Penny is survived by her husband, Curtis Wayne Janko of the home in Wagoner, Oklahoma; her daughter, Kallie Barnes and husband Donald of Wagoner, Oklahoma; her mother, Anna Mae Stroup of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her step-children, Billy Dale Risley of Oak Point, Texas, Donny Janko and wife Mary of Iona, Idaho, Dausha Ferguson and husband Jordan of Little Elm, Texas, and Donya Janko of Salt Lake City, Utah; her grandchildren, Jack Barnes, Flint Barnes, Colton Risley, Cheyenne Risley, Anastasia Janko, Natalya Janko, Clara Janko, Nadia Janko, and Deklen Ferguson; her brother, Kelly Skelton of Owasso, Oklahoma; her sisters, Terri Hollowell of Hollister, Missouri and Joey Jones of Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Penny was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy C. Risley, her father, Dene Harmon Skelton, her brother, Jimmy Hahn, and her sister, Linda Call.

A private family service will be held for Penny.
