Peggy Rhea Woods

Peggy Rhea Woods, age 80, resident of Owasso, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at The Highlands in Owasso, Oklahoma.  Peggy was born on July 29, 1941 in Amarillo, Texas to James Victor and Lela Odell (Tabor) Steen.  She was a 1958 graduate of Amarillo High School.  Peggy retired in 1992 after serving as a medical records clerk for the Amarillo Texas Hospital.  She was a member of New Heights Church in Owasso, Oklahoma.  Peggy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and dominoes.

Peggy is survived three daughters, Tammy Erwin and her husband, Larry of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Christy Tramel and her husband, Ivan of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Tyra Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her two sisters, Vickie Newman and her husband, Ronnie of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Bobbie McGee of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren, Larry Erwin III, Ashlee Scott, David Brown, Ashlyn Brown, and Autumn Tramel; eight great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, James Victor and Lela Odell Steen; her sister, Billie Clary; and her granddaughter, Lacy Hutchinson.

Viewing will be from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating Peggy’s life will be at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. John David Meissner officiating.
