Paul Self

August 13, 2011 Paul Self of Catoosa joined his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 22, 2010. He was born February 5, 1923 in Chismville, AR to Andrew J. and Victoria I. (Corley) Self. Paul served his country first in the U.S. Air Force and then in the U.S. Army during World War II. After returning home from the war he married Wanda (Fidler) on May 29, 1947 in Van Buren, AR and was blessed with 4 children: Don, Linda, Olen and Lavern. Paul loved nothing more than going fishing and hunting with his sons, grandsons and great-grandkids and dearly loved family get-togethers, reunions, camping with family, and having big fish fries. He would get the biggest joy out of taking friends and family fishing and watching them catch fish; he loved fall when he could go to the family deer camp and sit around with the boys eating and telling stories. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife Wanda;
brothers: Oscar, Arthur, Lloyd, Curtis and Roy; sisters: Lillie, Eula, Voda and Vera; and son Don Self. He is survived by his daughter Linda Allen and husband Steve of Morris; son Olen Self and wife Debra of Catoosa; daughter Evelyn Laverne Self of Catoosa; and twin sister Pauline Risenhoover of Quinton; dearly loved grandchildren: Steven Self and wife Lisa of Claremore, Angela Branson of Morris, Olen Dale Self and wife Lesley of Claremore, Tracie Shelton and husband Tom of Broken Arrow, Clint Self, Michelle Medlock and husband Ronnie, all of Claremore; 12 great-grandchildren: Jennifer, April, Anna Marie, Jessica, Clint, Colten, Megan, Matthew, Keara, Daniel, Maekaela, Brandon and Blake; 3 great-great-grandsons: Micah, Landon and Jackson; and many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
