Paul Denton of Sapulpa passed away after a brief illness on November 1, 2012, at the age of 82. He was born November 16, 1929, in Coweta to Floyd and Winnie Denton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Martin. Paul was co-owner of Denton-Easterling Ford Dealership with Ellis J. Easterling for 41 years. They began their partnership in Muskogee and later moved the business to Sapulpa. Paul is survived by his "bride" of 62 years, Ruth, and also by their children: Paula (Don) Thompson of Sapulpa and Gary (Luanne) Denton of Sapulpa. In addition he is also survived by their five grandchildren: Grant (Courtney) Thompson of Arlington, VA, Gavin (Kristin) Thompson of Oklahoma City, Garet (Heather) Thompson of Jenks, Whitney Denton of Sapulpa, and Ben Denton of Sapulpa along with one great grandson, John Oxley Thompson. Grandpa Paul continues to be deeply loved. The only thing he loved more than the horse races was his family. He will be greatly missed by many. The services will be held Tuesday, November 6th at 2pm at First Baptist Church in Sapulpa, followed by a private family burial in Coweta. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home, 210 S. Broadway, Coweta, OK, 918-486-5515. The family invites friends to stop by from 1:00 pm-1:45 pm prior to the funeral if desired, as there will be no receiving line following the service.
