Oscar W. Sheram, age 81, of Coweta, Oklahoma passed from this life on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home. Oscar was born on July 8, 1926 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Clifford Washington and Rosa Mae (Head) Sheram. He received his education in the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma school system and graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1944. Oscar and Geneva Hawkins were united in marriage on August 28, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Oscar worked as a salesperson for Newell Rubbermaid Corporation and as a route salesperson at Falstaff Beer Company for nineteen years. He also worked for the Pepsi Cola Company. His hobbies included camping, fishing, and playing horseshoes. Survivors include two sons, Jim Sheram of Coweta, Oklahoma and Don Sheram and his wife, Tina, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one daughter, Karen Santiago and her husband, Hugo, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two sisters, Martha Wilson and Nettie Hudson both of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Rosa Mae Sheram, his wife, Geneva Sheram, one granddaughter, Nikki Sheram, and one brother, Bill Sheram. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2008 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Cooper, Larry Gerber, Gary Gerber, Ron Foutch, Keith Wilson, and Don George. Honorary pallbearer will be Rob Gerber.
