It was the 15th day of September 1978 in Tulsa, Oklahoma that a beautiful bundle of joy was born to the proud parents of Margaret Brannon and James Sampson. They named him Oscar Tyree Jerome Sampson. He attended Tulsa Public Schools and later graduated from Coweta High School. He was an all-star football player and wrestled on the wrestling team. Oscar was a member of Christ Gospel Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he gave his life to Christ at an early age. He later moved to Tulsa where he started his family with Akeia Mayfield (Significant Other). To this union there were born 5 children. Preceded him in death: Louise and Damon Manns, Sr. (Grandparents), Nathaniel and Agnus Sampson (Grandparents), Melissa Bekederemo (Sister), Tia Sampson (Daughter), Dellureece Sampson (Niece) and Carrie Manns, Morine Manns and Regina Gordon (Aunts). He leaves behind to mourn his passing (Mother) Margaret Brannon (Darryl, Step-father), James Sampson (Father), Akeia Mayfield (Significant Other), Daniel Sampson, Nathaniel Sampson, Aniya Sampson and Mia Sampson (Kids), James K. Manns (Ebony Dean) Tulsa, OK, Lakeisha Thomas (Mike) Tulsa, OK, Meiko Williams (Rondell) Tulsa, OK, Shanell Mendenhall (Shawn) Coweta, OK, Timothy Sampson (Tasha) Broken Arrow, OK, Patrick Sampson (Katie) Wagoner, OK, Jeremiah Sampson (Alicia) Coweta, OK. He leaves behind 18 nieces and 11 nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to cherish his life and many accomplishments. A Homegoing Celebration is scheduled for 1:00 pm Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in Jackson Grove Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
