Osama Lee Rifai, affectionately known as Sam to his friends and family, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, OK, at the age of 36 years. He was born on October 18, 1988, in Claremore, OK to Marwan Mark and Lori Athena (Kannedy) Rifai.
Sam grew up in Coweta, Oklahoma and graduated from Coweta High School. His early education laid the foundation for a successful career as an entrepreneur. Sam was the owner and operator of Alpha Landscaping & Construction, a business that not only showcased his dedication and work ethic but also his love for the outdoors. He was well-known in the community for his meticulous work, especially during the holiday seasons when he brought festive cheer to many with his Christmas light installations.
Beyond his professional life, Sam was a man of many passions. He found solace in fishing and cherished the moments spent in nature's embrace. His love for the outdoors was a testament to his appreciation for life's simple pleasures and his desire to capture the beauty of the world around him.
Sam's life was enriched by the love and support of his family. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Mark and Melissa Rifai of Coweta, OK; his son, Stellan Baker of Broken Arrow, OK; his brother, Marcus Rifai and wife Shelby of Kingston, OK; his sister, Ashaya Rifai of Broken Arrow, OK; his brother, Alex Rifai of Coweta, OK; his sister, Maya Rifai of Coweta, OK; his nieces, Willow and Athena Rifai; and his nephew, Milo Rifai.
Sam was preceded in death by his mother, Lori Athena Rifai, his maternal grandfather, Walter Lee Kannedy, his maternal grandmother, Carolyn Venable, and his paternal grandparents, Fahd and Wasfia Rifai.
Sam's legacy is also marked by the lives he touched through his final act of generosity as an organ donor. His selfless decision will save several people's lives, a testament to his enduring spirit of giving and heroism.
Sam's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he has left behind.
Visitation for Sam will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK. Although there are no services planned, the visitation will provide an opportunity for friends and family to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and to share stories that celebrate Sam's enduring legacy.
