Opal Lee Thompson, of Porter OK, age 79, a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at home in Porter, OK. Opal was born on December 14, 1933 in Hominy, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Arthur and Trixie Mae (Martin) Mortimer. Opal and Robert L. Thompson were united in marriage on June 8, 1950 in Cleveland OK. Opal was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Porter, OK. Opal enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, making great pies, enjoyed her family, taking family pictures, internet games, building web pages and traveled the world. Opal is lovingly survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert L. Thompson, her four children, Robert L. Thompson Jr. of Gloster, Mississippi, Debra D. Thompson-Nelson of Las Vegas, NV, Joanna L. Jones of Coweta OK, Becky D. Thompson-Hinojosa of Houston TX, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Opal was preceded in death by her parents and 2 siblings. Funeral services for Opal are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Porter OK, with Dennis Piearcy officiating.
