Norma Young

Norma Young, age 79, resident of Wagoner, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning, June 5, 2017 at her home in Wagoner, OK surrounded by her family. Norma was born on June 19, 1937 to William Shepherd and Violet May (Day) Ingham in Manchester, England. She met the love of her life, Earl Wayne Young while he was in the Air Force and they later married on March 24, 1959 in England. Norma was a Nurse Aide at hospitals and nursing homes in Clovis and Portales, New Mexico. In 2005, she and Wayne moved to the Wagoner area from Portales, New Mexico. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, shopping, playing bingo and she loved taking care of other people. Norma was preceded in death by her husband in 2009, her parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters. Norma is survived by 1 son, Mario Wayne Young and wife, Jennifer of Wagoner, OK; 1 daughter, Tammy Kay Osborne of Durant, OK; 1 sister, Jean Rowland of Holywell, Wales; 6 grandchildren, Ruby Young, Mario Young Jr., Kimberly Ritchie, RJ Ritchie, Alex Osborne and Brendon Osborne; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Norma will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Viewing will be from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Norma's life will be at 11 AM on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Lighthouse Full Gospel Church, 504 S. State Street, Wagoner, OK 74467. Rev. Donald Hay and Pastor Lisa Sowers will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilyfuneralhome.com.
