Whitworth, Norma Zene (Hiller), 81 passed from this life September 20, 2017. She was born in Okemah, OK April 19, 1936 to Vinson V. and Lolabell (Anderson) Hiller, spent her first five years in Okemah, then her family moved to Tulsa where she attended Bryant Elementary, Grover Cleveland Jr. High, graduating from Will Rogers High School in 1954. Her older brothers Lloyd and Benton Dean Hiller also grew up with her in Tulsa. Following high school, she married Hurshel Whitworth, and subsequently had three children, Michael, Kathy, and Steve. Michael is currently a medical doctor and Kathy is a nurse. The family moved to California in the late 1950s for two years during Hurshel's military duty with the US Navy, then moved back to the Tulsa metropolitan area, living the rest of her life in the area. As was the tradition and expectation of the era, Norma was a housewife during the formative years of the children. Beginning in 1969, she worked as a secretary for the city water department. Later she was employed in oil field equipment manufacturing jobs then as the manager of a stockroom at American Airlines until her retirement twenty years ago. Her death occurred while residing in Broken Arrow with her grandson Daniel Bowman, who provided exceptional loving care for her the last years of her life. She is survived by her children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her brother Benton, passed away in 2016 and her brother Lloyd in 2012.
