Norma Fern Boley

Norma F. Boley, age 82, long-time resident of Coweta, passed away peacefully, Friday evening, January 10, 2014 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Norma was born on November 19, 1931 in Coweta, OK and was the daughter of James Evert and Sarah Iola "Fern" (Hendrix) Garrett. She was a 1949 graduate of Coweta High School. Norma then attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education. She and Thomas Wayne Boley were married on March 10, 1951 in Coweta and were married 49 years until he preceded her in death on December 11, 2000. Norma was a teacher with Tulsa Public Schools for many years until she retired in 1986. She was a member of Shahan Free Will Baptist Church in Coweta. Norma enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and reading. She will be missed as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Norma is survived by her 3 sons, Tom Boley & wife, Tammy, of Coweta, Mike Boley & wife, Jacqua, of Coweta and Trent Boley & wife, Kim, of Coweta; 2 brothers, Billy Frank Garrett & wife, Dodie, of Coweta and James Evert "Doc" Garrett & wife, Fran, of Coweta; 1 sister, Eloise Engel of Coweta; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wayne Boley, her parents, James Evert and Sarah Iola "Fern" Garrett and a brother, Ron Garrett. Funeral services for Norma are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. Lynn Moss officiating and Rev. Bill Walker assisting. Interment will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Josh Boley, Jeramy Boley, Andrew Boley, Levi Boley, Chad Boley, Mark Engel, Garry Engel and Greg Garrett.
