Nicholas "Nick" James Griffith

Nicholas “Nick” James Griffith, age 38, resident of Coweta, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, January 9, 2022 at St. John Hospital in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Nick was born on July 29, 1983 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Haymond Lisle “Hank” Griffith, Jr. and Sherry Elaine (Husong) Griffith.  He was a 2002 graduate of Coweta High School.  Nick attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.  He was a 7th grade geography teacher at Union Public Schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was named the 7th grade Teacher of the Year.  Nick enjoyed gaming and spending time with his family, especially his daughter.  He was always smiling and ready to talk about any subject matter.  Nick was a very kind and intelligent man and will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Nick is survived by his wife, Kassie Griffith of the home in Coweta, Oklahoma; his daughter, Mara Griffith; his mother, Sherry Griffith of Grove, Oklahoma; two brothers, Tra Griffith and his wife Jessica of Coweta, Oklahoma and Jeremy Griffith and his wife Delia of Coweta, Oklahoma; his nieces and nephews, Sayde Griffith, Cadence Griffith, Cordelia Griffith, and Hank Griffith; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Nick was preceded in death by his father, Hank Griffith.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta with the family present from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  Services celebrating Nick’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the Coweta Assembly in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Nick will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Tra Griffith, Jeremy Griffith, Adam Husong, Bret Hastings, Mike Walker, Justin Vannest, and Kenny Moore.  Honorary Pallbearers are Travis Timbrook, Nathan Schenck, Otto Schenck, and Berry Barnett.
