Nita Ruth Shields-Miller-Walker of Hulbert, OK, age 63, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at her home in Hulbert, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Walker, her mother, Mary Hubbard, her father, Frances Shields, one sister, Lois Thompson and one niece, Emily Sutton. She was born in Louisville, KY on February 24, 1949 and was raised in the Broken Arrow and Coweta areas. Nita had many licenses as a certified medical aid, social services and activity director, food service manager, quality insurance inspector and at one time she worked for eight nursing homes owned by LaDonna Ross and Jerry Franks. She enjoyed her work very much. She is survived by her daughter, Regenia Miller and companion, Ernie Pigg, of the home; her son, Greg Miller and wife, Tonya, of League City, TX; her four grandchildren, Jennifer "JC or Jaffers" Conrad and her husband, William, McKenna "Mac" Miller, Ariel "Pumpkin Head" Miller and Skylar "Skeeter" Miller; her three great grandchildren, Chase "Chasers" Cates, Sara Ann "Saucey Sara" Conrad and William Joseph "Little Bit" Conrad, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial service for Nita is scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Wright-Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Ronald Dean Thompson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Bob Smith, William Conrad, Mark Dunham, Aaron Thompson, Jason Tucker and Jon Cates. The family of Nita Walker entrusted her cremation, care and service to Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home, 210 S. Broadway, Coweta, OK 74429, 918-486-5515.
