Nathaniel Alexander was born in Vian, Oklahoma to Mr. & Mrs. Overton E. and Willie Dora Alexander on March 29, 1932. He was the eighth of 13 children. He attended school in Haskell, Oklahoma. At an early age, he became a member and joined Bethel A.M.E. Church. Nathaniel left home at an early age to see and explore the world. He later returned and married his school sweetheart, Dorothy Jean Jumper and to this union three children were born. The first born preceded him in death. He later moved to California where he worked as a laborer. He then moved to Wisconsin for a while where he resided with his two older brothers. He returned to San Diego, California where he met and married Ruthie Henderson and to this union tripplets were born, two daughters and one son. One daughter preceded him in death. After many years he returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was employed for the City of Tulsa. He met and married Ozella Williams. He was employed there until he retired due to illness. He resided in a group home in Tulsa because of his illness. He moved to Haskell, Oklahoma and resided with his sister, Ruthie Asberry until her illness. After living with his niece, Stephanie Taylor for a time he then moved to Haskell, Oklahoma and resided with his brother, Daniel Alexander until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Overton E. and Willie Dora Alexander, 1 son, 1 daughter, 4 brothers, Samuel, Jessie, David and Joseph Alexander, 3 sisters, Ernestine Taylor, Arjane Arnold and Ruthie Asberry. He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Debra Alexander of Kansas City, Kansas, Nathaniel Alexander, Jr. of Kansas City, Kansas, Nathan Kevin Alexander of Victorville, California, Douglas Alexander of San Diego, California and Sherry of San Diego, California; 4 brothers, Moses Alexander of Porter, Oklahoma, Amos Alexander of Haskell, Oklahoma, Daniel & (Wacheke) Alexander of Haskell, Oklahoma and Elijah & (Debra) Alexander of Kansas City, Kansas; 1 sister, Mary Fisher of Bonita, California; 1 aunt, Octavia Bates of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A Homegoing Celebration for Nathaniel will be at 11:00 am Friday, January 17, 2014 at Eastside Frist Baptist Church in Haskell, OK with Rev. John W. Anderson officiating.
