Nadine Johnston

Nadine Johnston, age 97, longtime Broken Arrow, Oklahoma resident went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at her daughter’s residence in Skiatook, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.  Nadine was born on August 5, 1924 in Sycamore, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Porter and Myrtle (Earp) Bowles. Nadine married the love of her life, Louis Elmo Johnston on December 21, 1954.  She was a secretary for Johnston Heat and Air for several years and a homemaker.  Nadine attended Tri-County Baptist Church.  She loved spending time with her grandkids and her house dogs.  Nadine enjoyed singing in a quartet, going fishing, and shopping.

Nadine is survived by three children, Janet McClellan and her husband Bill of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Jimmy Johnston and his wife Beverly of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Ted Dorton and his wife Pam of Verona, Missouri; two grandchildren, Adam Johnston and his wife Lauren and Bradley Johnston and his wife Amie; three great grandchildren, Bryson Hayden, Charlotte Johnston, and Lynlee Johnston; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends to mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Elmo Johnston; her parents, Porter and Myrtle Bowles; a granddaughter, Megan McClellan; and seven siblings.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 PM on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating Nadine’s life will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Clearview Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with Pastor Chris Cooper and Pastor Steve Sezate officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Nadine to Tri-County Baptist Church, 397930 W. 4100 Rd., Skiatook, Oklahoma 74070.

Pallbearers are Adam Johnston, Bradley Johnston, David Kirby, Greg Kirby, Mike Johnston, and Brian Priest.
