Myrtle Esther Sullivan

Myrtle Esther Sullivan, age 94, longtime Coweta resident went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 28, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Myrtle was born on February 13, 1924 in Hulbert, OK to Samuel Rolley and Cora Lee (Williams) Howell. She attended school in Hulbert, OK and Coffeyville, KS. Myrtle married the love of her life, Mark Hanna Sullivan, Sr. on June 6, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA. She was a homemaker for most of her life who loved caring for her family. Myrtle was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Coweta. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, flowers, embroidery work, helping raise her grandchildren, traveling, playing the guitar and music. Myrtle was a devoted wife and mother. She was a woman of great faith and enjoyed sharing Jesus with everyone. Myrtle is survived by 6 children, Mark Sullivan, Jr. and wife, Diana of Coweta, OK, Duane Sullivan and wife, Deborah of Bixby, OK, Richard "Dick" Sullivan of Coweta, OK, Dennis Sullivan and wife, Linda of Coweta, OK, Linda Bristol and husband, Louie of Coweta, OK and Gary Sullivan and wife, Diane of Broken Arrow, OK; 10 grandchildren, Mike Sullivan, Darrell Sullivan, Sutton O'Brien, Faron Sullivan, Grant Sullivan, Angie Foster, Shelley Foster, Paris Bristol, Yalonda Jernigan and Ashley Bristol; 22 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; nieces, Liz Haughey and Cheryl Sullivan; cousins, Lisa Fidler and Carolyn Draime; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Services celebrating Myrtle's life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. John Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Mike Sullivan, Darrell Sullivan, Faron Sullivan, Grant Sullivan, Paris Bristol and Ashley Bristol. Honorary Pallbearers are Richard "Dick" Sullivan, Terry Potter, Robby Dyer, Brock Foster, Tracy Kouns, Leon Foster, Raymond Potter, Gary Snelson, Mike Turman, Joe Haughey, Rich Robinson, Christopher Keeler and Mike Foster.
