August 11, 2011 Murlene Lila "Mur"Hiatt, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ March 20, 2009 in Tulsa. She was born December 17, 1933 in Altadena, CA to Elmer Lee and Julia Elizabeth (Barth) Bates. Murlene married Darrell Wallace Hiatt on April 10, 1954 in Carlsbad, CA and together they created a wonderful family and life together. She worked many years as a Licensed Professional Counselor and was a faithful member of Abiding Harvest United Methodist Church. Murlene worked as a Master Gardener with Tulsa's Linnaeus Teaching Garden. She was an artist who enjoyed painting and was an avid student of the Word of God. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her daughters: Deann Engstrom and her husband David, Lynette Hiatt-Frink, Meg Beltran and her husband David, Rebecca Mercado and her husband Marc, Jenifer Garcia and her husband Elias; sons: Daniel Hiatt and his wife Melanie, Jon Hiatt, Jerremy Hiatt and his wife Tracy; grandchildren: Matthew Engstrom and his wife Erin, Aaron Engstrom and his wife Annie, Amy Hall and her husband Matt, Kelly Swenson and her husband Joe, Nathan Sevrinus and his wife Toni, Kari Bally, Jenifer Frink, Annslee, Delaney and Melia Hiatt, Robert, Jesse, Dan and Michael Beltran, Coco Mercado and his wife Jackie, Andrew and Sarah Mercado, Justin, Joshua, Bradley and Katherine Garcia, Brennen and Stormie Hiatt; great-grandchildren: Logan, Cole, Tyler Engstrom, Carter, Grant, Emmett and Jane Engstrom, Josiah and Anna Hall, Nilla, Isaac and Abigail Swenson, Destiny and Logan Sevrinus, Isaac Bally, Waldemar Mercado; brother Elmer Bates and his wife Sondra.
