Monolito 'Moe' Ivy

We gather today to comfort and share in the celebration of the life of Monolito "Moe" Ivy. May we all gain strength from his life. Moe was born October 31, 1972 in Gary, Indiana to Billy and Jowanna (Burleigh) Ivy. Moe was raised in Gary, Indiana where he attended Horace Mann High School. He later attended college at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR. On July 2, 1992 he married Monique Alexander, who cherished their marriage vows to the end. To their union four beautiful children were born who remained devoted to their father. Moe touched the lives of many people through his passions for personal training, martial arts, modeling and coaching youth sports. Moe was an avid weightlifter, bodybuilder and enjoyed playing basketball and football. Left to cherish Moe's wonderful memory are his wife of twenty two years, Monique; three daughters Cortney, Cheianne, and Chaisse Ivy; son Monolito "Deuce" Ivy Jr.; granddaughter, Aubrie Tatum, all of the home; his father Billy (Sherry) Ivy (Tulsa, Oklahoma); mother Jowanna Ivy (Gary, Indiana); three sisters Renee' Ivy (Gary, Indiana), Monique (Lee) Allen (Searcy, Arkansas) and Chynna Ivy (Oak Park, Michigan) and paternal grandmother Henreen English (Coweta, Oklahoma), along with a host of wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Lillie Shuler, maternal grandfather Alvin Burleigh, paternal grandfathers Elisha English and Curly Ivy, and cousins Charles Ivy Jr. and Deon Ivy. A Homegoing Celebration for Moe will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Wilson Chapel CME Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. Viewing will be from 12 PM - 8 PM on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the funeral home. You may view the obituary and send condolences to the family online @ www.brownfamilyfuneralhome.com.
