Mildred Bernice Dodson

Mildred Bernice Dodson, age 85, longtime resident of Coweta, a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away Wednesday morning, March 7, 2012 at home with her daughter, Francis and granddaughter, Jerri Lynn by her side. Bernice was born on November 6, 1926 in Benton County, AR and was the daughter of Ova Andy and Nora Anna (Mullin) Londigan. Bernice was raised in Spavinaw, OK where she also received her education. In 1938, Bernice moved to the Coweta area from Spavinaw, OK. On June 7, 1942, Bernice was united in marriage to Noah Dodson and they spent 44 years together until he preceded her in death in July of 1986. Bernice was a homemaker and a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church. Her hobbies included crafts, gardening, plastic canvas, and needlework. Bernice is survived by her 12 children, Noah Lee Dodson and wife, Linda, of Coweta, OK, Lawrence Dwayne Dodson and wife, Barbara, of Westville, OK, Faye Weaver and husband, Warren, of Galena, MO, Frances Victory of Broken Arrow, OK, Linda Miller of Coweta, OK, Kaye Yandle and husband, Bill, of Cherokee, OK, Alma Brown of Coweta, OK, Debbie Mooney and husband, Steve, of Tulsa, OK, Diana Wilson and husband, Brent, of Haskell, OK, Norma Tosh and husband, Phil, of Coweta, OK, Joyce Childers of Coweta, OK, and Jennifer Cooper and husband, Tony, of Coweta, OK. Bernice is also survived by over 200 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Dodson, her parents, Ova Andy and Nora Anna Londigan, one son, Donald Bart Dodson, one daughter, Noah Marie Ulmer, two grandsons, Michael Childers and Benny Victory, two granddaughters, Shawn Dodson and Deanna Dodson, and four great grandchildren. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, March 11, 2012 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 at Abundant Rain Ministries, 12425 S. 273rd E. Ave., Coweta, OK 74429. The Chaplain Jack Taylor will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Scott Miller, Dwayne Dodson, Larry Victory, Bill Yandle Jr., Tommy Murphy, Robbie Miller, Johnny Lee Victory, Devon Wilson, and Justice Dodson.
