He was so passionate about education, even in retirement, that he opened Hunting Learning Center in Broken Arrow with his sister in 2011.
Mike loved outdoor activities with his family, anything from skiing to boating at the lake, to just hanging out by the pool where he spent many hours cleaning it every summer. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mike was a strong Christian man and previously served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Coweta. He is currently a member at Life.Church in Broken Arrow where he was the lead usher.
Mike has had such an impact on the lives of so many students and players over the years. Most of his former students will remember him for one thing: Every single day on the intercom he would say, “Have a great day, or not. The choice is yours!”
