Mickey Wayne Joyce, age 87, of Coweta, Oklahoma, left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 24th, 2019. Mickey will be deeply missed and tenderly remembered by his two sons, Marc and David; granddaughters, Jessica Halliburton, and Oksana Brown; and his grandson, Aric. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Joyce; two daughters, Suzette Stevens and Jacque Cody; his mother, Willie May (Boswell) Joyce; and his father, William Marshall Joyce. Mickey will also be remembered by his numerous friends and members of his church family. Mickey was born in Humboldt, Tennessee on Thanksgiving, November 24, 1932. He spent his childhood in Tennessee before joining the US Air Force from 1950-1953. From 1954-1957, he worked in construction with his father and brothers in Montana, North Dakota and New Mexico. In Santa Fe, New Mexico 1958 he met and married his wife, Susan Errett Joyce on October 4th. They remained married for the rest of their lives. They lived in Santa Fe & Albuquerque New Mexico in the late 50's then moved to Thornton, a suburb of Denver, CO in the early 60's before settling in west Tulsa for 20 years. From 1984-1990 they moved back to Albuquerque, NM where they still had many friends. In 1991 they returned to the Tulsa area eventually settling in Coweta in 1998. Mickey worked as a bricklayer, bus driver, realtor, armored car driver and multiple entrepreneurial endeavors. Mickey & Susan spent many years traveling in their RV's all over the United States including Alaska, Canada, and Nova Scotia. Mickey had a love of aviation and took many lessons in fixed wing aircraft but ultimately became a hot air balloon pilot and enjoyed the sport for a decade. Mickey was an extremely patient man, and this contributed to his knack of handyman work, both in and around the house, as well as bird watching, landscaping and gardening. Both he and Susan were always active in church and ultimately found their final church family at Coweta Assembly of God. Mickey and Susan began the King's Kitchen in 2010, a meal ministry that provides assistance for the Coweta community to this day. Mickey also served as Deacon for a number of years as well as assisting Susan in many small groups she organized. Mickey was a good neighbor, an excellent father, a dutiful husband, true man of caring as well as servant of the Lord. He will be greatly missed by all whom encountered his generous will, kind spirit and loving personality. May he rest in peace after so many well performed duties. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mickey to the Coweta Assembly of God or King's Kitchen.
