Michael "Mike" Lawrence Gentry

Michael “Mike” Lawrence Gentry, age 68, resident of Porter departed this life on Tuesday morning, May 24, 2022 at his home in Porter, Oklahoma.  Mike was born on July 17, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Bluford and Wilma (Romine) Gentry.  Mike was a graduate of Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Mike then attended Okmulgee Tech, where he became a certified heating and air conditioning technician.  He married the love of his life, Ramona Kay Gentry on November 15, 1980 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Mike owned Coweta Heating and Air for many years and worked for the City of Coweta in the Public Works Department for 38 years until he retired in 2016.  He enjoyed fishing at the lake, going to the farm in Heavener, BBQing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Mike is survived by his wife, Mona Gentry of the home in Porter, Oklahoma; two daughters, Jessi Whitehead and her husband Orlando of Kellyville, Oklahoma and Sara Gentry and Jason Looper of Coweta, Oklahoma; one sister, Tennie Ledbetter and her husband Chris of Mannford, Oklahoma; two brothers, William Gentry and his wife Anita of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Joseph Gentry; seven grandchildren, Makiah Looper, Marek Looper, Myles Looper, Mikaela Looper, Mireya Looper, Landon Blue Whitehead, and Mickey Looper; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Bluford and Wilma Gentry, his infant son, Baby Gentry, and his brother, Blu Gentry.

Visitation will be from 6:00–8:00 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating Mike’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma with Will Gentry officiating.  Graveside services will follow at 2:30 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Heavener, Oklahoma.
