Melza Evans

Melza "June" Evans, 65, of Claremore, passed from this life on January 12, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 14, 1952 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Oscar and Melza Nipps. June graduated from Broken Arrow High School. She also graduated from Broken Arrow Beauty College in 1970 and from Tulsa Vo-Tech LPN program in 1971. She worked as a nurse for 25 years and as a beautician until just a few months ago. She married the love of her life Tommy Evans on Oct. 20, 1980 at the Tulsa Courthouse. June loved animals. She raised baby chickens, horses and goats. Growing up, her dad had a farm, which is where she formed her love for animals. They also had a large garden which she enjoyed working in. June loved to fish, knit, sew and also worked as a seamstress. One of her favorite past times was to watch the hummingbirds, she had a true love for them. June also had an old hound dog that she liked to watch chase squirrels. June is survived by her loving husband Tom of the home, daughter, Shannan Batchelder and her husband Jeff of Claremore, grandchildren, Austyn Noland and Zoe Noland, brothers, Ronnie Nipps, and Roland Nipps. June is preceded in death by her mother Melza Nipps.
