Max Allen Cole

Max Allen Cole, age 84, longtime Coweta resident went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday afternoon, July 15, 2022 at his home in Coweta, Oklahoma surrounded by his family.  Max was born on October 2, 1937 in Clarksville, Oklahoma to Harvey Dow and Pansey (Rogers) Cole.  He was a graduate of Porter High School.  Max married the love of his life, Donna Jean Snelson on September 25, 1958.  He worked for the Federal Government in the General Services Administration as a maintenance engineer for many years until he retired.  Max also owned Max Cole Rentals.  He started the Civil Defense (now known as Emergency Management) where he was the Director for 27 years.  Max was also a volunteer fire fighter in Coweta and served on the City Council in Coweta for several years and was Assistant Mayor.  He was a member of the Coweta Mud Boggs.  Max enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Max is survived by his wife of 64 years, Donna Cole of the home in Coweta, Oklahoma; his sons, Ronnie Cole and his wife Cindy of Coweta, Oklahoma and Randy Cole and Stephanie of Coweta, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Dala Hedge and her husband Jeff of Haskell, Oklahoma, Brandon Cole and his wife Robyn of Haskell, Oklahoma, and Darla Goodson and her husband Jesse of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; seven great grandchildren, Madyson Hedge, Caden Hedge, Braden Hedge, Mia Cole, Ali Cole, Emi Cole, Jade Goodson, and one on the way; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Glenda and Larry Denton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Dow and Pansey (Rogers) Cole, his brothers, Loyd Cole and Jack Cole, his sister, Wanda Anderson, and his brother-in-law, Barry Anderson.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating Max’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Coweta Assembly in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Gary Rogers officiating.  Max will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Brandon Cole, Jeff Hedge, Caden Hedge, Braden Hedge, Zachary Denton, and Greg Edwards.  Honorary Pallbearers are Doug Jackson, Pat Boyd, Larry Denton, Lee Wert, Dennis Shook, and Ted Martin.
