Maurell Creekmore

Maurell (Hester) Creekmore of Coweta passed away on July 8, 2007 at Grace Living Center in Tahlequah. She was 89 years old. Maurell was born on October 18, 1917 in Morewood, Oklahoma to Oren McAdoo and Hallie M. (Blair) Hester. She received her education and graduated from high school in the Sand Springs school system. She and William Harold Creekmore were united in marriage on December 31, 1941 in Yuma, Arizona. They came to the Coweta area in 1974 from Yakama, Washington. Maurell was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta. Her hobbies included gardening and crocheting. Survivors include eight nieces; eight nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Loren Creekmore, three brothers, Henry Hester, Olen Hester, Jr., and Wayne Hester, three sisters, Lurline Potter, Twyla Clark, and Rula Hester. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta with Pastor D. Frank Hughes officiating and Mike Hughart assisting. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Terry Potter, Jay Potter, Lloyd Hester, Billy Holmes, Larry Smith, and Mike Woodward.
