Mary Lou Smith, age 81, longtime Coweta resident went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, April 25, 2018 at Village Health Care Center in Broken Arrow, OK. Mary Lou was born on March 14, 1937 to William Troy and Grace M. (Earlabaugh) Tower in Willsetta, OK. She was a graduate of Central High School in Tulsa. Mary Lou married the love of her life, Lyndall K. Smith on July 14, 1957 in Tulsa, OK and they had 5 children, Terry, Larry, Lyndall Jr., Cindy and Diana. She owned and operated Mary's Tailor Shop for over 40 years. Mary Lou was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, flowers and all kinds of crafts. Mary Lou loved her dog, Puggy and always enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Lyndall "L.K." Smith, her parents, William Troy and Grace M. Tower, 3 sons, Terry Smith, Larry Smith and Lyndall Smith, Jr. and 1 brother, Charles Tower. Mary Lou is survived by 2 daughters, Cindy Johnson and husband, Larry of Coweta, OK and Diana Poplin of Coweta, OK; 8 grandchildren, Nick Johnson and wife, Kristin, Michelle Waddell and husband, Chris, Brandon Poplin and wife, Tiffany, Shawn Poplin, Jason Smith, Jeremy Smith, Justin Smith and Michael Smith; 10 great grandchildren, Katelynn, Dakota, Nathan, Khloe, Kenzie, Maddox, Taegan, Ezra, Zack and Ashley; 3 nephews, Chuck Tower, Chris Tower and Troy Tower; and numerous other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 2-7 PM on Saturday, April 28, 2018 and from 12-6 PM on Sunday, April 29, 2018 with the family present from 4-6 PM on Sunday. Services celebrating Mary Lou's life will be at 10 AM on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Cedar Ridge Christian Church in Coweta, OK with Tony Holmes and Pastor Ryan Fankhauser officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Nick Johnson, Chris Waddell, Chuck Tower, Troy Tower, Shawn Poplin and Cooter Kilgore. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Walkingstick and Chris Tower. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilyfuneralhome.com.
