Mary Laplante

Mary Jane LaPlante, age 90, long time resident of Tulsa, OK passed away Wednesday morning, April 25, 2012 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Mary was born on August 4, 1921 in Tulsa, OK and was the daughter of Orville and Blanche (Farnham) Wall. Mary and Clarence L. LaPlante were united in marriage in Tulsa, OK and he preceded her in death in 1977. Mary worked as a switchboard operator at Hillcrest Medical Center for over 25 years until she retired in 2002. Mary enjoyed cooking, grocery shopping, trying sweepstakes, working as a switchboard operator, and she enjoyed caring and spending time with her family. Mary is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Carol Bolding and Sandra Jean Cannon, both of Tulsa; one step-son, Clarence L. LaPlante, Jr. of Tulsa; two sisters, Wilda L. Adams of Tulsa and Billie Jean Soderberg of Artesia, New Mexico; one grandson, Craig Michael Cannon; one great grandson, Zachary Blaine Bolding of Coweta; three nieces, Kathryn Parsons of Artesia, New Mexico, Barbara Lewis of Midland, Texas, and Elaine; and other relatives. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Steven Wayne LaPlante, one brother, James Wall, and one grandson, Brian Jefferson Bolding. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK with Pastor Allan Swinson officiating.
