Mary Elizabeth Knupp of Coweta, OK, age 82, a loving and caring wife, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully, early Friday morning, June 14, 2013 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK. Mary was born September 2, 1930 in Porter, OK to Leo and Ova (Finn) Stack. Mary married Leroy Knupp on October 9, 1949 at the Knupp home in Coweta. They enjoyed 63 years together. Mrs. Knupp graduated from Coweta High School in 1948 and Northeastern State College in 1968. She was a member of RHO Theta Sigma and the National Education Association. She taught first grade for 22 years in the Coweta School System. She was also a member of the Oklahoma Retired Educators and was secretary from 1992 to 1993. She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Coweta since 1969. Mary enjoyed painting and quilting. She was instrumental in many dinners and fun filled evenings with family and friends. Leroy and Mary enjoyed traveling to many places in the United States, Canada and Europe. Mary is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leroy Knupp of the home; her sister, Pearline Childress of Coweta, OK; and several nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Lee L. Stack, one sister, Lawanda Davis and one nephew, Jimmy Davis. The family will greet friends Monday evening, June 17, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services for Mary are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Allan Swinson and Pastor Charles Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are David Childress, Doug Stack, Roger Stack, Gary Jack Knupp, Ernie Justus and Kenny Moore. Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Douglas, Eddie Bowman and Lee Shieldnight. The family of Mary Elizabeth Knupp entrusted her care & services to Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home, 210 S.
