Mary E. Erwin of Coweta passed away on Monday, September 24, 2007 at Cedar Crest Care Center in Broken Arrow, OK. She was 81 years, 11 months, and 29 days old. Mary was born on September 26, 1925 in Bixby, Oklahoma to Joseph E. and Cora Jane (Wilson) Morgan. She received her education in the Bixby school system. Mary and Chester Lewis Erwin were united in marriage on January 16, 1943 in Coweta, Oklahoma. Mary was a homemaker for most of her life. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, and she enjoyed reading the bible. Survivors include one son, Jerry Erwin and his wife, Linda, of Haskell, OK; three daughters, Margie Young and her husband, Bob, of Cleveland, OK, Dorothy Williams of Wagoner, OK, and Sue Erwin of Coweta, OK; one sister, Jewel Dean Nelson of Tacoma, Washington; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one granddaughter, three brothers, and two sisters. Graveside services were at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta with Rev. Mike Hughart officiating. Interment will follow.
