Mary Chalakee

Mary Elizabeth Chalakee, age 71, longtime resident of Coweta passed away on Monday evening, October 4, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was born on September 26, 1939 in Claremore, OK to Legus and Nannie (Porter) Chalakee. Mary was a loving and caring mother and sister to her family. She was raised in Coweta and attended Coweta Public Schools. Mary worked as a cook at Green Parrot Cafe and as a cafeteria worker at Coweta Public Schools. Mary was a member of Abundant Rain Ministries in Coweta. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, talking on the phone and she loved spending time with her family. Mary is lovingly survived by one daughter, Nancy Cypert and her husband, Eddie, of Coweta, OK; three brothers, James Chalakee, Joe Chalakee and Tommy Chalakee, all of Coweta, OK; three sisters, Betty Campbell of Kiefer, OK, Bobbie Copeland of Sand Springs, OK and Sophie Lowe of Coweta, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mary was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Johnny Chalakee and one sister, Naomi Baldridge. Funeral services for Mary will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Abundant Rain Ministries in Coweta, OK with Pastor Ron Spradlin officiating.
