Mary Cade

Born to William C. and Avante Mary Scott, on June 18, 1936. "June" as she was affectionately called was reared in a loving home. Mary attended Kemper Schools and graduated Suma Cum Laude from Booker T. Washington. She met and married Milton Cade and to this union 10 children were born. Mary's greatest joys were her family, fishing and garage sales. Mary was a lifelong member of Jackson Grove Baptist Church serving in whatever capacity she was needed. Mary known by many as a "confidante" would always assure those who sought her wise counsel that "the good Lord knows ALL about it"... Just pray and watch him work it out. "Miss June" was the second mother to many of her children's friends down through the years; always there with a good meal and a place to lay your head. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and her loving husband. Those she leaves to cherish her memory and honor her life are sons, Milton D., Melvin L. (Patricia), William M., Lester D., George A. (Peggy), John I. (LaDonna), Keith E. (Yolanda) and Doyle M. and her daughters, Opal L. and Karen D. Hakim (Khalil). She will also be greatly missed by her 32 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Jackson Grove Baptist Church in Coweta. Interment will follow at Jackson Grove Cemetery.
