Mary Louise Akins

Mary Louise Akins, age 71, resident of Coweta departed this life on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at her home in Coweta, OK surrounded by her family. Mary was born on July 5, 1947 in Oklahoma City, OK and was the daughter of Guss William Jones, Jr. and Louise (Reust) Dreadfulwater. She was a graduate of Mustang High School in Mustang, OK. Mary married the love of her life, Billy Charles "Bill" Akins on June 23, 1994. She worked at Equifax for 12 years and managed Braum's for many years. Mary was active in cheerleading, basketball and 4-H during her high school years. She enjoyed fishing, quilting, canning and gardening. Mary is survived by her husband, Billy C. "Bill" Akins of the home in Coweta, OK; 2 daughters, Tammie Elliott and spouse, Scott Faircloth of Nashville, TN and Leanne Pyles and husband, Richard of Jenks, OK; 2 step-daughters, Angela Cooper of Broken Arrow, OK and Kelly Tennyson and husband, Jason of Las Vegas, NV; 2 brothers, Guss David Jones and wife, Diane of Wagoner, OK and James W. Jones, Jr. and wife, Donna of Tahlequah, OK; 5 sisters, Viola Mae Ogle and husband, Dale of Gurley, AL, Violet Jean James of Gurley, AL, Cynthia Joan Duvall and husband, Kenneth of Tahlequah, OK, Jamie Sue Wilkie and husband, Lee of Lake Charles, LA and Tamsye Rea Graver and husband, Mark of Pace, FL; 6 grandchildren, Cassidy Pyles, Courtney Pyles, Cole Pyles, Robbie Tennyson, Tyler Tennyson and Jordan Tennyson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Guss William Jones, Jr. and Louise (Reust) Dreadfulwater. A memorial service celebrating Mary's life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Jay Jones officiating.
