Marvin Dorris, Jr.

Marvin Dorris, Jr., age 81, longtime Coweta resident went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday afternoon, March 29, 2019 at Senior Suites Healthcare in Broken Arrow, OK. Marvin was born on April 6, 1937 in Warner, OK and was the son of Marvin and Bertha (Goodman) Dorris. He received his education in Warner Schools. Marvin married the love of his life, Wanda Lee Corcorran on January 9, 1954 in Eufaula, OK. He was a businessman and owned and operated Marlee Carpets in Tulsa, Dollar Carpets in Tulsa, and Midway Cafe in Coweta. Marvin had a patent for a carpet laying system. In his younger years, he had a couple of nicknames, "Junior" and "Big Boy". He enjoyed gardening, auto racing, and even sponsored auto racing in Tulsa. He was an avid OU football and Oklahoma City Thunder fan. Marvin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wanda Lee Dorris of Broken Arrow, OK; one daughter, Brenda Isaacs and husband Jerry of Bixby, OK; two sons, Randall Marvin Dorris of Broken Arrow, OK and Larry Dorris and wife Teri of Stone Bluff, OK; one sister, Norma Carlton and husband Allen of Everett, WA; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Bertha Dorris, one daughter, Rhonda Pattie, one granddaughter, Michelle Dorris, and four siblings, Mildred Willyard, Bob Dorris, Irene McMinn, and Ophelia Dorris. Viewing will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Marvin's life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Pastor Renny Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Michael Dorris, Ryan McKenzie, Andy Isaacs, Joel Isaacs, Jerry Isaacs and Randall Davidson.
