Martha Sue Guerrero, age 73, was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 15th, 1948. Martha departed this life on March 1st, 2022. Her spirit is welcomed into heaven's gates by her mother, Alice Wattie, and siblings, Billy, Bailey, and Woodrow Wattie. Her mother, Alice, relocated Martha and her brothers, as well as her sister, Shirley to California where she played basketball at Pioneer High School. Soon after graduating, she gave birth to her two children, Andy and Linda. While simultaneously raising two children she worked for years at a dry-cleaning company. After being diagnosed with Lupus and unable to work, she then dedicated her life to her two grandchildren, Sabrina and Xavier. She not only babysat, but was very active in school and after school activities for her grandchildren; attending recitals, basketball games, practices, and volunteering any chance she had.
Martha was a part of the RCIA program at St. Linus Catholic Church where she was sponsored by her daughter, Linda. She attended St. Linus in her regular pew every Sunday. Known as the Bingo Queen, she attended bingo night every Friday at St. Paul High School. In family tradition, she was an original Laker fan and watched every Laker game win or lose. In her later years, she survived a brain tumor and open-heart surgery in the same year. She moved back to Oklahoma in 2019 to spend her final years with her son Andy and his wife Leah. Her favorite pastime in Oklahoma was going to the casino and gambling.
Martha is survived by her son, Andres C. Guerrero Jr.; her daughter, Linda S. Guerrero-Flores; her granddaughter, Sabrina S. Betancure; her grandson, Xavier C. Guerrero; her sister, Shirley Ann Wimberly; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her mother, Alice (Whitlow) Wattie and her brothers, Billy Ray Wattie, Woodrow Wilson Wattie, and Bailey Joe Wattie.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in California.
