Mark Anthony Thompson

Mark Anthony Thompson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away peacefully at his home in Claremore, OK, on Sunday morning, October 13, 2024, at the age of 61 years. He was born on February 9, 1963, in Muskogee, OK to Tommy and Sharon (Wise) Thompson. Mark's journey through life was marked by his unwavering kindness, a deep love for his family, and an infectious zest for the great outdoors.

Mark graduated from Muskogee High School in 1982. His passion for learning and skill development led him to attend Vo-Tech in Muskogee, followed by further studies at Tulsa Junior College. These formative years set the stage for a successful career, and Mark went on to work as an Inspector at Ardagh Glass, where he was respected for his meticulous attention to detail and his strong work ethic.

Throughout his life, Mark's heart was always fullest when surrounded by his beloved family. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Elisabeth "Libby" Thompson of Claremore, OK; his son, Brandon Parker (Shanna) of Coweta, OK; his daughter, Brittany Sanford (Japheth) of Vian, OK; his mother, Sharon Thompson of Muskogee, OK; his grandchildren, Hunter Hall (Madi), Anita Hall, Harleigh Parker, Emersyn Parker, Maci Sanford, and Dawsyn Sanford; his sisters, Melissa Thompson and Tonia Watson, both of Muskogee, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Thompson.

An avid outdoorsman, Mark found solace in the embrace of nature. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at their lake place on Hudson Lake. The tranquility of the outdoors was a source of great happiness for Mark, and it is where he made countless memories with his family and friends.
