Margie Addie Watkins

Margie Addie Watkins, age 87, lifelong Coweta resident went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, September 27, 2022 at her home in Coweta, Oklahoma surrounded by her family.  Margie was born on July 3, 1935 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Walter and Maudie (Smith) Todd.  She attended Muddy Flats School in Coweta.  Margie married the love of her life, Maynard Lee Watkins on September 23, 1950 in Coweta, Oklahoma, and they just recently celebrated 72 years of marriage.  She was a devoted homemaker who loved caring for her family.  Margie enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, and fishing with her husband.  Her family was her world and she loved them with all of her heart.

Margie is survived by her husband, Maynard Watkins of the home in Coweta, Oklahoma; her daughter, Rickie Ross of Havana, Arkansas; her sons, Mark Watkins and wife Linda of Coweta, Oklahoma and Ronnie Watkins and wife Rena of Coweta, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Chad Watkins and wife Jennifer of Coweta, Oklahoma, Dustie Akins and husband Chad of Anderson, Missouri, Jared Ross and wife Lisa of Booneville, Arkansas, Jason Ross of Havana, Arkansas, Shannon Yarbrough and husband Brad of Dardanelle, Arkansas, and Destranae Cotton and husband James of Dardanelle, Arkansas; sixteen great grandchildren;  three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Maudie Todd, her brothers, Joe Todd and Elmer Todd, her sisters, Lucille Neugin, Walsia Sanders, and Edith Dodson, her son-in-law, Ray Ross, her grandson, Kirby Watkins, and Kirby’s mother, Brenda Watkins.

Services celebrating Margie’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Larry Duncan and Steve Fisher officiating.  Margie will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Chad Watkins, Jared Ross, James Cotton, Brad Yarbrough, Bruce Watkins, Chad Akins, and Jason Ross.  Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Howard, Doug Collins, Rowland Wilson, and Laverne Williams.
