Marcus Dewayne Asberry

September 29, 1964 — October 15, 2018

On September 29, 1964 a precious baby boy was born to Irma Jean Asberry and Lonzo Taylor. They named him Marcus Dewayne Asberry. Marcus lived in Haskell, Oklahoma all his life and he graduated from Haskell High School with the class of 1982. He was the type of person that never met a stranger. Music was his life so that made him want to become a DJ and everyone knew him as "Marky-D". He worked at the paper company in Haskell. He joined Beltha AME Church at an early age. The ones that have gone before him is his sister, Gloria Anderson, his father, Lonzo Taylor, both grandparents, cousin, Martez Sheomatel, his aunt, Julia Mae Asberry and his uncle, Grady Asberry. He leaves behind his loving mother, Irma Asberry of the home in Haskell, Oklahoma, his two sisters, Dannice Jean White of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Machella (Tracy) Marshall of Muskogee, Oklahoma, his brother, Marc Steven Taylor of Muskogee, Oklahoma, his two daughters, Meleanie Nichole Bruner of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Billye Jamill Griffin Asberry of Kansas, 6 grandkids, ChaSonya, Byrona, Byun, KyRon, Parish and Lil James, his aunts, Evelyn (Danny) Byington of Haskell, Oklahoma, Mary (Louis) Marshell of Porter, Oklahoma and Norma (Jacob) Anderson of Porter, Oklahoma, his uncles, James (Janice) Asberry of Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Ennis Jr. (Ida) of Haskell, Oklahoma, a special cousin more like a daughter, Dnajia Byington of Haskell, Oklahoma, a special best friend, Donna Sue Dixon of Haskell, Oklahoma, a very close cousin, Isabella Byington "Sweet Pea" of Haskell, Oklahoma, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A Homegoing Celebration will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Haskell, Oklahoma with Pastor Anthony Folks officiating. Burial will follow in Doyle Cemetery in Taft, Oklahoma. Viewing will be from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Brown Family Funeral Home.
